1 and 20 months!

This week each of our boys celebrated a milestone:  Miles turned 20 months old on Wednesday and today Spencer hit one month!

I'm having a hard time believing it has been a month since Spencer was born.  And the fact that Miles is extremely close to turning two simply blows my mind.  I am so blessed.

Miles and I have had some ups and downs this week.  He is trying my patience, intentionally or not.  We had a poopsplosion earlier this week (due to a faulty Velcro tab on a bumGenius diaper...Jen, you might be receiving that one to convert soon!) that was actually pretty funny even at the time, but the day ended up being a total nightmare.

But in spite of some of the trials that come with mothering a toddler, he is really a sweet child.  He is so loving to Spencer and has started giving really good REAL kisses to us!  He has always been a cuddler, but now he wants to give us really nice hugs and kisses.  Super adorable.  And he has been adding lots of words to his vocabulary.  I need to update our list, because I'd say the count is over 50 words now.

Spencer is doing well - very well, actually.  It turns out, when given the chance to show it, he is a really good nurser!  At his appointment on Monday, he was 8 lbs. 6 oz.  I weighed him tonight (on our infant scale) after his bath and he hit 9 lbs!  That was with a diaper and clothes on, BUT our scale is always lower than the scale at the doctor's office.  So I don't feel "wrong" telling people he weighs 9 lbs. now!  He's starting to fit into his 3 month clothes, too!

He has had a few nights where he slept for a good 3-4 hour stretch.  I bought a 2nd Kiddopotamus swaddle wrap earlier this week, and this one is thicker, microfleece.  It is sooooo soft.  Anyway, he stays swaddled in that and sleeps really well!  He always ends up in our bed at some point, but we're working on that.

I'm learning more about myself every day - the things I need to do to feel human, and the points at which I need to take a Time Out.  But I'm happy to say that I have lived to tell about my first month as a mother of two under two!
