I had a great appointment with my midwife yesterday! She was actually available to see me, not delivering anyone. My weight was fine, BP was great, urine clear, baby's heartrate and position excellent, and fundal measurement was perfect!
We talked about the hip/crotch pain I've been having (known as the "Vagina Knives" in the L & D department), my infection that was completely cleared by the magical prescription she wrote for me 2 weeks ago, and then discussed my birth plan.
When I asked if she had any experience birthing with many people using Hypnobirthing or HypnoBabies, she had! She has had great experiences with it and she shared some of the stories with me. She said everything in my birthing preferences looks great and she gave me a few tips for going natural at this hospital, even sharing the name of a L & D nurse who is a Hypnobirthing instructor! She said she thinks I have the perfect attitude for a natural delivery (meaning that I know what I want but I'm flexible and won't freak out if things don't go as planned) and she thinks I'll do great!
I asked what the odds were of having either her or Melissa, the other midwife I've seen, if I should go in during the next few weeks. She said they were pretty good, but gave me her cell phone # anyway, just so I could let her know we were going in.
She said Spencer feels like an average sized baby, but said that even if he is bigger than Miles was (Miles weighed 8 lbs. even), he shouldn't have trouble getting out. She said second deliveries are almost always easier than the first.
I'm having more contractions and because of this, I'm trying to get everything ready here at the house. I've got some folders made up - info. for my parents and/or babysitter to know while they are here with Miles and the dogs, and a folder to go with us with phone numbers and such.
I had Brandon pick up a chocolate cake mix and strawberry frosting yesterday for my cupcake treats for the Labor & Delivery nurses when we go. The hard part will be not making them to eat on my own! :-)
Brandon did a little Daddy Duty job yesterday, part of his preparation for the baby to come. He picked up our Jeep from the shop (it's working fine now, just needs the front end aligned) and washed it inside and out. It looks and smells fantastic! Ready for a new baby to come home in!
Tomorrow we HAVE to get our garage cleaned up. No more excuses.

I have a friend who's 37 weeks right now with her first, a girl...it's so fun to read about you and her right now :) Babies, babies everywhere! :)
I remember NEEDING to get the car cleaned in my last week of my 2nd pregnancy. It was walking round the mall after I'd dropped the car in to be done that started labour....ahh, the memories, that babe is nearly 2 now! Good luck with it all!
