I've developed quite the obsession lately with making little games for Miles, games to cover with contact paper for repeated use. I discovered a great website, www.toddlertoddler.com, and have been using it for ideas and inspiration.
Here are some of my creations!
Shapes Hunt & Match (from ToddlerToddler.com)

As you can see, there are shapes and a matching shapes outline page. You tape the shape pieces around the room and let the child find them. Then they bring them back and match them to the outlines (like a puzzle).
The next two games use a shoebox and its lid with a big section cut out of the lid for various games where you put things into the box.
Washing Machine game (I'm most proud of this one, I made it myself from my own idea)

To teach names of clothing items and their colors as well as the concept of why clothes go in the washing machine.
Birdhouse game (from ToddlerToddler.com)

You just put all the birds into the birdhouse. You can count the birds and talk about the colors of the birds.
Counting Planes (from ToddlerToddler.com)

You are supposed to tape these up to a wall or surface in order so that the child has to pull them down and put them in a basket. You say the number when you pull it down. It is to help with number identification and left-right processing (to prepare for reading).
Turkey Trot (just for Thanksgiving!);

These are just for hiding and discovery at Thanksgiving time. I think I might make another set so we have more.
I have them all stored in a manila envelope right now (any little pieces go into their own Ziploc baggie in the envelope).
Next on my list is to find paint samples of the Disney paints by Behr like these

Any other ideas for me?
