We are back from SITS, JHC, and vacation! It was so nice being all of those places, but it's really good to be home! I truly hate the mess when you get home from vacation though -- all the laundry, the unpacking...It's maddening.
We have some great pictures from vacation and Miles's birthday to share when I get a chance. They have to take a backseat to other pressing matters right now.
I had my first OB appointment and ultrasound this morning. We had our U/S first (they do things kinda backwards at this office). I was pretty nervous, but we quickly saw our little peanut! He or she has a very strong heartbeat at 176 bpm! The baby is measuring right at where my LMP date is, so I'm 8 weeks and 4 days along, due March 3rd!
I really like the midwife I'll be seeing. She has a Miles at home too, so that was really fun! The only thing that she was concerned about is that I have a 3cm blood clot in my uterus. She said it's not that uncommon and that it puts me at higher risk for bleeding during pregnancy and a very slightly higher risk for miscarriage. However, because I'm almost 9 weeks along and everything looks beautiful, it's probably nothing to worry about. I did a little reading online tonight and saw a statistic that was very reassuring. It said that the percentage of pregnancy loss due to subchorionic hematoma (blood clot) is only 1-3%. I can deal with those numbers!
I feel a little guilty because I haven't posted much about Miles lately, only in little Facebook statuses. But he is doing fabulously! He had his 1 year checkup today and he weighs 21 lbs. 1 oz, was 29.5 inches "tall." Everything is great, says the doctor. He is walking, waving, pointing, eating really well. I have stopped nursing all except for morning and nighttime and he is drinking 2 cups of whole milk each day. He's such a great baby...well, I guess he's a toddler now! :-(
That's the news for now!
