Ugh. I feel like I've been hit with the symptom truck.
I don't remember the intense need to urinate frequently when pregnant with Miles, but I am certainly feeling it with this pregnancy! Brushing my teeth has become a question of "Do I stand over the sink or the toilet?" I've always had a pretty strong gag reflex, but I find myself gagging at the slightest "off" smell or feeling.
I can hardly keep my eyes open in the afternoon. I'm able to stay awake pretty well at night, which is good because Summer In The Son and Junior High Challenge are going on right now and we can have some pretty late nights. We even went to Smokey's one night this week and didn't get back until 2am. Miles slept the whole time and I was wishing I could join him in his carseat for a quick nap.
I did end up putting the cloth diapers on the shelf for the time being. I just couldn't handle the smell. Cloth diapers have a really bad lingering smell of ammonia in between washes and it was just unbearable. I think if we were at home and I could wash them every day or every other day, I would be okay, but this laundrymat stuff is for the birds.
I am 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant today and we have started coming out of the maternity closet to a few people here and there as it becomes pertinent to the conversation. For example, Brandon is planning some mission trips to Haiti with the SITS crew and one of the trips will be in March, so he had to tell them that March is a no go for him. I also spent some time with a few mommy friends of mine this week and 2 of them are pregnant with their 2nd child and so I shared the news with them too. I feel okay about doing that, but in the back of my mind, I'm always thinking how terrible it would be to have to explain if something happens.
That's about all that's going on today. SITS 2 ended today and JHC begins tomorrow, so we are relaxing in the campus apartment after a trip to the Lexington airport to pick up and drop off some people. Miles has a dirty diaper that I can smell and I know I need to change it but I'm not sure I can do it. Too bad he couldn't be potty learned by now :-)
