I'm feeling really good!
Only a few times a day do I feel uncomfortable. My movements typically have some sort of noise associated with them, like "Ugh!" or "Ooof!", and I have a hard time carrying Miles around or dealing with his antics when he doesn't want to be led around by the hand.
But do I have that panicked, OHMYGOSHGETTHISKIDOUT feeling? Nah. I'm excited about meeting him, kissing his little face, and getting to know him. I don't know if it's the HypnoBabies stuff, or because of my past induction experience, but I'm in no rush to get this labor train started. Part of it is because I'm not ready to have two small children, but mostly, I just don't want to rush things. And I don't want to make myself miserable and frustrated by thinking labor could begin any second.
I had my 36 week checkup on Thursday, along with the test for Group B Strep (if it's positive, I'll just have to have an IV bag of antibiotics at delivery) and I declined the internal cervical exam. I was prepared to tell her I didn't want it or didn't want to know, but she asked. She agreed with me, saying "If there was anything of significance going on, you would know it [by contractions] before I check you!"
I set up 3 more appointments for the next 3 Thursdays, so up through my 39th week. I think maybe at that point I go in twice a week? Not sure.
My predictions for Spencer's arrival at this point are as follows:
- I will go into labor (or my Birthing Time, in HypnoBabies speak) a few days before my due date, at some inopportune time - like during church, during a WW meeting, etc.
- Spencer will weigh between 7 and 7.5 lbs. (Miles was 8 lbs. Spencer just doesn't feel as big.)
- He will be born late afternoon or evening.
We'll see how that all pans out.
I'm almost done with my HypnoBabies home study materials and after that, I go into "Maintenance," meaning I listen to one track each day, plus practicing a few of the techniques and practicing a Birthing script with Brandon every other day.
I haven't decided what we're going to do as far as announcing to the world when we go to the hospital. I think we might text/call a few people but keep it quiet on Facebook and such. I don't need the distraction, and I'm sure the word will get out quickly when we text and call to get some help with Miles and the dogs. And it'll be fun to surprise everyone with a "He's Here!" post :-)
