Down, down, down he goes!

So I'm pretty sure that Spencer has now "dropped."

I thought he had several weeks ago, but this is way more significant.  My belly looks really different, I have these stretch marks around the top of my belly button all of a sudden, I'm peeing CONSTANTLY (every time I stand up, I have to run to the bathroom), and I'm having all kinds of pressure down in "the area."

I have an appointment on Thursday.  I'll be 36w1d then and they'll be doing the Group B Strep test (oh joy!  what bliss!) and are supposed to check me for any dilation/effacement.  However, I'm going to ask that they either don't check me or just don't tell me what's going on.

Why?  Well, there's just no point, really.  It means nothing.  Unless she would look down there and say "Oops, baby's head is coming out!", what good is it?  Some people walk around dilated to 3cms for weeks before labor begins and others go from zero to baby extremely quickly!

It won't do me any good to know that things are or are not starting to get moving.  Eventually, when Spencer is ready, things will get moving and I won't need someone looking betwixt my legs to tell me that.

I'm a little stubborn, aren't I?

Agreed. When I went in for that check, I was so dilated the doctor was all, "I'm on call this weekend and won't be surprised to see you!" Yet I ended up making it to my induction date with no super big change. You're totally right here.
