The homemade detergent is doing fantastically well, thank you for asking.
I actually have had several people ask me how it is working. Today I was amazed by its power. I was folding laundry and came across a novelty maternity t-shirt that says "Does this baby make me look fat?" that has had a mysterious blue stain on it. The stain is now gone!
I have been separating my whites from darks a little more carefully now, since I am using some hot water in the wash to dissolve the soap beads. But that's no problem.
I also want to share about my experience with a meal-planning service I have begun using. Throughout the pregnancy, I have gotten so lazy about meal planning and shopping. It was starting to scare me about what we would do when Spencer arrives!
Last week, one of my Weight Watchers members clued me in about a service called e-Mealz. The way it works is that when you sign up you choose from several options for your meals. We are on the Dinner for 4, Points, and Wal-Mart. So our meals are based on 4 servings, Weight Watchers Points, and Wal-Mart specials. You get a printout with the meal options (main dish and side(s)), and the recipe/instructions. Then you also get a printout as your shopping list for those meals.
We got 4 meals this week (with it being a holiday week) and we made all of them. We had a beef stroganoff, bacon/egg quiche, fish, and spinach-mushroom alfredo. I really like that it gives you side dishes as well.
Obviously it doesn't factor in your breakfasts and lunches or snacks, but we are finding that it makes a lot of food, so we can use the extra servings for our lunches. Or, what I started doing tonight, which was freezing a few plates already made up and I plan to use them when the baby arrives. Hopefully they will still be good then...
Okay, so anyway, you pay for 3 months at a time, which is $15.00. You can also save $2.50 if you use the promo code "dave." And I get a little percentage if you sign up using this link !
I was able to justify the $15 a month with the amount we will save by eliminating eating out. So many times when we have no idea what we're going to eat for dinner, we end up getting something from a drive-thru, or pizza. This is going to help us TREMENDOUSLY.
If you have any questions about e-Mealz, let me know!
